Skin Boils
My son started out with school sores but then started getting boils which they are treating with antibiotics, these don't seem to be helping, can you suggest anything?
Impetigo (school sores) is a type of bacterial, contagious skin infection that usually occurs in children. It is characterized by red patches that develop into small, itchy, painless fluid filled blisters that join together, forming crusty yellow sores when they break and are most commonly found on the trunk, arms and legs. Impetigo is often caused by infection by Staphylococcus Bacteria.
Boils are pus-filled abscess's that initially affect the Hair Follicles of the epidermis of the skin. The infection then spreads to the skin's deeper layers. The pus in Boils consists of dead white blood cells and detrimental bacteria (usually Staphylococcus aureus).
