Lemon juice & Candida
I have been drinking lemon juice water lately, I know my body is loaded with yeast and I am wondering if lemon water cleanses yeast out of the body?
The juice of lemons has the ability to change the pH (acid/ alkaline balance) environment of the body. Lemon juice although acidic in its natural state when it is consumed it increases digestive secretions due to its bitter properties and this effect actually alkalises the whole body.
By taking lemon juice regularly bacteria are inhibited, not able to sustain growth and will die off, sometimes causing waste products, discharge and a brief exacerbation of symptoms. However if these problems continue then further treatment is necessary. Naturopathically speaking, if a person is presenting with an excess of discharge then addressing this problem via diet and lifestyle changes is necessary which includes a complete and thorough investigation of diet, personal history, oral contraceptive use, recent anti-biotic use and lifestyle.
Some diet changes are listed on the following Askanaturopath.com information page. In addition, progressively increase the overall health of your immune system, liver and digestive function and lymphatic system. All of these are contributing factors to the overproliferation of the detrimental bacteria which causes yeast infections and mucus discharge.
