Foot Odour

I have recently found I have quite smelly feet. I have never had this before. What could be causing this and what can I do to stop it?

Possible causes of foot odour

Possible causes of foot odour image
  • Liver and lymphatic congestion
  • Sweating feet due to stockings/ socks not being able to breathe.  Choose a cotton sock rather than synthetic
  • Candida, Tinea infection
  • Heavy metal toxicity
  • Kidney insufficiencies
  • Nervous system sensitivity (increased sweat production from adrenal activity or nervousness)
  • Vitamin and mineral deficiencies (Calcium, Linoleic acid, Silica)
  • Thyroid conditions

Diet tips for foot odour

  • Reduce diuretics such as tea, coffee, alcohol and soft drinks
  • Ensure that you are drinking adequate amounts of water (at least two litres/ day).  Losing water reserves through perspiration may leave you feeling depleted, cause an electrolyte imbalance and muscular fatigue
  • Reduce sugar consumption as this contributes to bacterial fermentation, changes in skin pH and odour

Lifestyle factors for foot odour

  • Detoxifying foot spa and add a few drops of Grapefruit seed essential oil
  • Address liver detoxification and Kidney elimination of metabolic wastes
  • Address inflammatory skin conditions as excess heat (liver congestion) may also be the cause of skin inflammation and increased heat in the body
  • Address any fungal infections, kidney or liver diseases, diabetes as these are all contributing factors to an increase in body odours
  • Wear clean natural fibre clothing as synthetic fibre can hold odour more than natural fibers
  • Reduce liver congestion to cleanse the blood and remove impurities from the circulation

Natural remedies for foot odours

Natural remedies for foot odours image
  • The minerals Silica and Calcium are beneficial to condition the blood to reduce congestion which contributes to odours
  • A wheatgrass shot daily, as wheatgrass acts as an antiperspirant as well as cleansing the blood, liver and kidneys
  • Chlorophyll liquid to your drink bottle, this has a cooling effect on the blood as well as a natural deodorising effect
  • Other cooling herbs to reduce liver heat and odour are: Dandelion, Bupleurum, Milk Thistle, Baical Skullcap and Phellodendron
  • The mineral tissue salts Silica and Nat. Mur may help to cleanse the circulation and promote better elimination of wastes
