Finding a Naturopath
I would like to start seeing a naturopath and there are several in my area to choose from. What are a few good questions to ask them to find out who will be best for me?
Finding the correct Naturopath for your needs can be a difficult process but it is usually well worth the effort. It is beneficial to find someone that can help you to develop and move forward.
Your relationship with them may even span a couple of years. The healing process may be a long process especially if you are presenting with complicated chronic conditions.I recommend talking to the retail assistants in health food stores or in a Naturopathic college to ask them for a referral. Some practitioners will focus on treating particular areas such as children, men or womens health, sports related injuries, hormonal problems, weight loss, allergies, food intolerances, fertility, skin conditions, blood analysis or liver detoxification.
Once you have been given the name of a Naturopath phone them to ask them and have a brief chat to see whether you feel comfortable with their approach. Naturopaths often specialise in different modalities such as: Iridology, Massage, Nutrition, Chinese Medicine, Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy, Flower Essences, Acupuncture, Ayurvedic Medicine, Reiki, Kinesiology, Energetic or Vibrational Healing.
Different people will respond differently to the treatment options available and sometimes (unfortunately) it may take a time to find the appropriate one for you.
